Counting The Days...

17 days to Final Year Project Report submission.
23 days to first examination paper.
29 days to the end of examinations.

Yes. Counting down the days left in NTU. My FYP is nearly done. Just need to tweak a bit for my final report and it will be done. I have only got two subjects to worry this semester. I thank Allah for giving me the strength to complete most of my year 4 subjects last semester. Hopefully with this extra time given to me, I will be able to use it for His sake. The feeling of nostalgia is slowly filling me up. Think I should treasure my final moments in NTU and leave a mark before I leave. Hehehe...

On the other hand, been feeling lazy and slack. The thought of having two subjects does not help either. Need a morale booster and a kick in the butt. I actually don't understand what cause procrastination. Trying to find the root of the problem but I think it is all in the brain. Is it haram for a muslim to procrastinate? Hmm... Something to ponder upon.

On a deeper note, it is time again for Muslim all over the world to commemorate the Birthday of a Great Man, Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h. He has always been and will always be the greatest idol for all of us. Let us all take some time and ponder upon those last words that he delivered during his last sermon. Take a moment or two to reflect on our life and what have we done to live up to our prophet last sermon.

O People
Lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefor listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People
Just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest); therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.

Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas Ibn ‘Abd al Muttalib (the Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived.

Beware of Satan for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People
It is true that you have certain rights in regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives, only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat you women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People
Listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat.

Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white- except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefor, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people.

The Inaugural Interview

Alhamdulilah. All praises goes to Allah for giving me a chance to go for this interview. The company is PSA Singapore. Most people still thinks that PSA is a statutory board but actually it is fully privatise. In fact PSA is the first Multi-National Company in Singapore. Ok enough of PSA. The interview was for an operation executive job.

The interview was actually a task based assessment plus a perliminary interview. I was really stressed prior to the interview because it was my first time going for a real job interview. Search online for common questions, read up the company corporate information and even asked for tips from everyone. It was nerve spliting because I really wanted to get a job as soon as I graduate and this interview might just fulfil my wish. So it is crucial that I do well for this interview. It is also partly because I want to settle down after I graduate. And to achieve that, I need to get a job. Hehehe...

I really don't know how I did for the interview but if given a scale of 1 to 10, I would give myself 6. I know I didn't give the best and sensible answer for most of the questions but I also know I didn't gave any negative answer to the questions.

The task based assessment was a mad rush. We were given 15 minutes to plan for an operation after which we are given another 15 minutes to execute the operation.(I can say what the operation is because it is a copyrighted game by PSA) Everything happen in a rush. There four of us in the room with four assessors. As usual, there is one guy who is outspoken therefore he tried to be the leader and coordinate the task but I think he was too eager to execute the operation that he didn't reconfirmed the role that each of us need to play. We end up making a big loss. Nevertheless, I hope that my contribution to the operation do good on me for the assessment.

For the interview, guess what. None of the online common question came out during the interview. Waste of my time rehearsing for the common question. The questions asked was quite simple yet require some thinking before answering. And those of you who knows me, I always had trouble putting my thoughts into words. Therefore you can imagine me giving weird answers and keep on iterating on the same point again and again. The vocab that I used was also limited to just a few simple secondary school level vocabulary. Hahaha... But then, among the four interviewee, I was in the room the longest. Most of them took like 15mins while I took 20mins. Don't know why the rest of them use that as an indicator of whether you will be accepted or not. Well we will just see. The results will be end of March or early April.

Thank you to all those of you who have helped me for this interview in one way or another. InsyaAllah if I got this, you will be remembered... *hint* *hint*

Grab Your Life Back

Peace to all.

Migrated from Freewebs. I think the interface here works better and furthermore Google has taken over Blogger and I am a fan of Google. Hasn't had the time to write any notes or words since the migration. Old website is still there. New website will just be a boring wordy blogspot website. Still new so I don't know many features here.

School has slowed down this week. But don't be too happy cause it will pick up again next week. The final 4 weeks of school had begun. Library is now open till 11.30pm. The battle will commence again. Hahaha...

NTU is becoming more and more like NUS. Previously, if you were to walk along the spines of NTU, any malay you meet, you will recognised them or at least know which faculty they are from. Now, it is becoming a cold place. There are more malays seen, Alhamdulilah. But the "familiness" is gone. I don't feel united as before. Maybe because I am in my final year thus I don't go out so often to mingle with the rest. Well, ont thing for sure, I am graduating thus the challenge is the future and what it has install for me.

PSA interview this coming Thursday. It is going to be a Task Based Assessment cum Perliminary Interview. Still not prepared for it. Any of you got any tips please share with me.
