Welcome To My Life

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you

Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

*
No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

#
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
When no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more
Before your life is over

Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With the big fake smiles and stupid lies
But deep inside you're bleeding

repeat *

No one ever lies straight to your face
And no one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy
But I'm not gonna be ok

Everybody always gave you what you wanted
You never had to work it was always there
You don't know what it's like
What it's like

repeat # twice

To a dear sister

You feel like the world is turning on you. You feel that you are all alone. You feel that this life has no more meaning to you. This song is for you. Hang in there Sis. Strengthen your Iman with longer prayers and ask Him for guidance. Allah is always there for you whether you know it or not. Never give up hope. Life is precious, lets treasure it and make the full use of it. We only live once.

20 Days Later

Don't worry, it is not another vampire/viral diseases movie. Just the number of days that had pass without an entry. Well, I have been busy, its the beginning of the year so a lot of stuff need to be done. New beginnings, new plans and new responsibilities.

I have been observing a lots lately. A lot things that is happening around me. As usual me being me, it made me reflect and ponder. Shoved me into deep thinking. Whatever it is, I believe, Allah has made plans for me and I hope the plan will be the best for me.

Life will surely be different in two months time. New discoveries will be made, good and bad. I pray and I hope that Allah will give me strength and guide me in this path that I am taking. Hah.... too many on my mind to even pen it down here...

The One with The Singaporeans

I was boarding a bus last Friday while returning from work. The bus no is 903 to be exact. When the bus came, it was full but all of us at the bus stop were able to board the bus. I had to stand near the entrance of the bus and here was when I realised something unique about Singaporean.

The bus driver was an Indian in his early 40s and then there was an old Chinese man probably in his 60s. And guess what? They were both conversing in Malay! One Chinese, one Indian, talking to each other in Malay. Amazing but true. This is the true nature of Singapore and her people. We are a mixed bunch of people living together in harmony in one small island.

I was smiling to myself all the way to the interchange. At that point, I was also thankful to Allah, the Almighty for letting me live on a country that is able to house different races and languages and religions. Although we have our differences be it in thoughts or actions, we are still able to accept each other and tolerate one another. Yes we dislike whatever you are doing but we are able to take it.

As a Muslim, we must learn that colour doesn't matter. You may be black, yellow or even whites but as long as you have good values and yearn for the goodness for all mankind, you are a friend of us. A friend need not be a Muslim nor must he say that God is One. Singaporeans have agreed to disagree in some matters that is why we are able to live with each other.

However, in some other countries, fights broke out exactly because of this. One say that God is One, the other say that God has a son and they fight with each other because of that. I will not elaborate more on this. Not keen into religious debates. Just hope there will be some peace in this world which is dying rapidly. If everyone continue to fight, there will be no place to live anymore in the future. Let us all go to Space and live.

The One with the First post in 2008

Two Thousand and Eight. 2008. Yes it is 2008. But don't worry, I am not going to talk about reflections and future planning in this post. I am sure all of you who are reading are mature enough to do all that. I just want to give my views about living. Yes living.

Humans have been living in this world since Prophet Adam and since then we have been adapting, using the earth resources for our survival. As time goes by, technology advances and standard of living improves. Now we have LCD HDTVs, superspeed broadband connection not only to the laptops but also to the mobile phones, GPS system and what have you. I couldn't remember those time where there are no mobile phones. Although my generation is the evolving generation. We have no mobile phone to pagers then alphanumeric pagers then the super duper old type phones to modern time fully coloured phones. I still remember those days were we use to have codes for messaging on the alphanumeric pagers. Those days having a pager was the coolest thing. Now it seems unthinkable not to have a mobile phone.

Have we become a materialistic nation? Where we define happiness by looking at how much gadgets and new items we have in our possession? Are working our asses off just to afford a brand new car or the brand new Full-HD LCD TV? Is that really happiness? The objectives in life for most well-minded people is to find happiness but I don't think most of us know what happiness is all about.

For me, happiness is about having the time to spend it with your loved ones. It might sound cliche but I truly believe in it. Loved ones can be my parents, my brothers and sisters in Islam, my future wife, my future kids etc. These are the elements of my happiness. I don't mind having a small house as long as I have these people to spend time with. I once visited a house of my senior and was amazed by it. He is a well respected person and has a probably high ranking job which will most probably associated with a high salary but I was amazed by the way he led his life. His house is simple but yet homely. He doesn't have a big TV, no home theatre system, no fancy curtains or sofa set. Even some of his furniture are giveaways from his families or friends. MasyaAllah I truly admire him. It is not that he can't afford all the luxuries in life but he choose not to. He choose to lead a simple life for himself and his family. Nevertheless though, his house has a lot of books in fact more books than the other furnitures. I think he can open his own library.

I am not saying that it is the correct way to lead a life. I myself sometime have the urge to get my hands on all the latest gadget(I am a man, I like gadgets!) but i think it is all about what you define as your objectives in life. How you define your happiness in life and how you want to allocate your resources. At the end of the day, it is all about Mardhatillah(the pleasure of Allah). So to all those getting married or are married, something for you to think about.

Power! It is all about power!

Yeah people. It is all about power. What power am I talking about? Well it is not the power status kind but power as in power itself. Energy. Power as in electricity. Yes that is right, I am talking about electricity. But why am I talking about electricity?

Well as most you should have known, oil prices have gone up. Since electricity has direct connection with oil, the price for electricity will also go up. Meaning our bills will also be higher soon. My mum has increased her nagging about not switching off lights and appliances when not using. She even switches off the lights to my workstation even though I just left the place to get something from the kitchen. I am not angry or affect about her nagging or action because I understand well of the intention. Electricity cost money and money are hard to come by. Our household bills have steadily increased over the months and that is not a good sign.

When I think about it again, I feel that she is right. We need to conserve electricity. Think about all those people in other countries without the leisure of lights at the flick of the switch. Yeah.. Yeah.. I know you have heard about that a thousands times but let us reflect properly and sincerely.

As a muslim, it is wrong for us to allow wastage. Leaving lights on, turning on the TV when there is no one watching or even using the aircon when it is already a cold day is a practice of waste. Some of us do it without realising it because we are so lazy to switch it off. For example, I am using my laptop doing some work, then I feel like watching a DVD. SO instead of switching off my laptop, I just leave it on while watching DVD. That is wasting!! I use laptop as an example because laptop uses a lot of electricity. Believe me, I study energy at university level, I know.

So my dearest brothers and sisters, please conserve electricity. Many of us might think it is just a small matter but it is not. The earth is being depleted of its natural resources. Soon we will find ourselves with any resources to produce electricity. Solar energy is definitely not the answer so it nuclear. Let do our bit by not wasting energy. Lets always remind ourselves to switch off any lights or appliances(laptop) when we are not using them even for 15 mins long. Every single effort will insyaAllah be rewarded in the hereafter.
